Buss’ Auditory Guitar Studio

What Makes This Different

Designed for the Way You Learn

Most guitar teachers rely heavily on visual instruction—sheet music, diagrams, video demonstrations. But what if that’s not how you learn best? At Buss' Auditory Guitar Studio, lessons are designed for auditory learners—those who absorb information better through listening rather than seeing.

You might be an auditory learner if:

  • You prefer audiobooks over reading

  • You retain more from conversations than notes

  • You learn songs better by ear than by tabs or notation

This approach is especially helpful for:

  • Individuals with vision loss

  • People with dyslexia

  • Veterans and first responders with TBI-related challenges

  • Anyone who wants to learn guitar without relying on visual aids

My Story

Meet Your Coach: Buss

I started playing guitar at age 7 or 8. But by 14, due to progressive vision loss, I could no longer read music or see my instructor’s hands. It became a struggle to continue learning.

Still, I kept playing—driven by passion and curiosity.

Years later, in my 30s, everything changed. While test-driving a Taylor guitar, I asked the shop owner about a blues technique I’d heard on Eric Clapton’s Unplugged album. He paused and asked:
“What’s the best way to teach you this?”
I said:
“Just describe in detail what you’re doing.”

That moment sparked a lifelong love for auditory learning—and it transformed how I played, practiced, and taught guitar.

After more than five decades of playing, composing, and growing, I’m excited to help others experience the same joy and clarity in their musical journey.
